Illustrated in the poems The Lady of Shalott and Ulysses by Alfred Lord

Illustrated in the poems The Lady of Shalott and Ulysses by Alfred Lord Tennyson, The Door by Mir break ones back Holub and The Girl in Times strong, a novel by Paulina Simmons. win over gives us roots continuity gives us branches letting us stretchand grow to reach new heights. Living as we know it wouldnt outlast ifchange didnt occur. This ability to continue changing is the onlytrue security we have. This is illustrated in the poems The Lady ofShalott and Ulysses by Alfred Lord Tennyson, The Door by Mirslave Holub and The Girl in Times Square, a novel by PaulinaSimmons.Tennysons The Lady of Shalott is divided into four parts, followinga strict and consistent meter and rhyme pattern throughout. The Ladyof Shalott is a magical being who lives alone on the island of Shalottacross the river from fast paced Camelot. The first 2 parts of the poem illustrate a place where everythingstands still. There is a severe lack in movement and The lady ofshallots surroundings appears to be id le. This is illustrated throughthe bleak and dull the poem provides.. Four grey walls and four greytowers.. And the silent isle embowers Slow horses. The uneventfuland bland introduction serves its purpose by setting the tone and moodas a boring one, to only make the end excitingly climatic. The first and to the highest degree important change that occurs in this text is thearrival of Sir Lancelot in Shalott. He is represented through theimagery of flames, sun, sparkle, glitter, stars, gold, silver, shine, burning light and glow. It was His mere presence that further sickenedThe lady of Shalott of only perceive shadows and compelled her to leaveher loom. The fact that the decision to leave was hers alone, event... ...result of choicesamong alternate paths offered by the present, but a place that wecreate using our minds and will, then in activity. The early is aplace we are creating not going to. The path is to be made not foundand through change she can achieve the most unique an d fulfillingdestinations. It is from the didactive nature of all of these texts we can concludethat change is inevitable. Change can be positive or negative. Withchange comes responsibility, but the price is forever worth what we gotfor it. The emotive, descriptive language and imagery used inTennysons poems, symbolism and simplicity of The Door and themystery of The Girl in Times Square all profoundly affect the way Ihave viewed change as a necessary element of living, making it sosimple to give voice that Change by itself is the most powerful agent togrowth and transformation.
